1st Marchwood Brownies meet every Monday night during term time from 6.30 to 7.30.

Brownies work in small groups called Sixes. They often take part in special activities and events throughout the year.

Any girl over the age of seven who wishes to can become a Brownie.

    • The Brownie Promise is:
I promise that I will do my best:
      To love my God,
To serve the Queen and my country,
      To help other people
      and
To keep the Brownie Guide Law.
    • The Brownie Guide Law is:

A Brownie Guide thinks of others before herself and does a good turn every day.

Each Brownie chooses what she wants to wear from a range of items - it is up to each girl to decide which items she likes.

     What Happens at Brownies?

During her first four to six meetings the new Brownie finds out more about Brownies, joins a Six and is given her Six badge. she also gets her Brownie uniform.

She then prepares for her Promise Celebration by learning and understanding the Brownie Promise and Law.

Throughout her time as a Brownie she takes part in the Brownie programme by using the Brownie Adventure books.

    There are two Adventure books:

    • Brownie Adventure, which lasts for about the first 2 years at Brownies, and
    • Brownies Adventure On, which starts when a Brownie is about 9 years old.

There are also Interest Badges for Brownies to do.
